Marie Durand: Imprisoned but Free
Marie Durand was 15 years old when she was imprisoned in the Tower of Constance in France. Her crime was having a brother who was a Protestant minister. She was promised freedom if she denied her faith in the Bible and its teachings. She only had to say one French word – “J’abjure” – “I deny.” But her faith was more import to her than her freedom. She simply desired to live and worship according to her conscience, and the Bible she loved.
As you watch this program, you will discover the terrible results of rejecting the Bible and dismissing God’s law. You’ll discover how the promise of liberty, equality and fraternity turned into rule by the guillotine.
